Gallagher Premiership champions Leicester Tigers launched the first of their ‘Heritage Cover Series’ at the opening home game of the new campaign against Newcastle Falcons in mid-September.
The long-standing supporters of Ignition Sports Media have always been at the forefront of matchday programme innovation throughout the years and this season is proving no different.
The Welford Road outfit opted for a modern twist on previous year’s covers for this season’s frontage, with a different style expected each home game. A memory lane of ‘Tigers in Print’ is also now a regular feature within each edition as the club reflect and re-live styles of the past, with the opening game a nod to the 1991-92 season.
As part of the insight into how the club’s 100-page perfect-bound A5 matchday programme gets assembled, Ignition cameras were on hand to show every step of the process through the Stephens & George print factory earlier this month.
Once the creative aspects of writing and designing the issue has been edited and proofed through pre-press, the publication then gets plated, printed, bound, finished, boxed and delivered in less than 24 hours to be ready for matchday distribution.
Below is a sneak peak behind the scenes of how the Tiger gets its stripes.
