Aston Villa host a Norwegian side for only the second time in the club’s history when Viking visit in the UEFA Champions League in October.

Unai Emery’s Europa League winners welcome Bjarte Lunde Aarsheim’s side to B6 on Wednesday 21st October for a mouth-watering encounter against the Norwegian champions.

The Dark Blues, who are currently second in the Eliteserien, eliminated Dinamo Zagreb 5-3 on aggregate in a play-off qualifying round to reach the league phase of this season’s competition. 

The Stavanger-based side, who lifted a first domestic title for 34 years in 2025, will be an unknown quantity for Villa when they visit the West Midlands.

Supporters can pre-order a copy of the club’s official match-day publication ‘The Villa News & Record’ for this maiden meeting and have it delivered direct to their door post-match.

This B5 size 84-page perfect bound commemorative issue will be despatched on Tuesday 20th October and should be expected no longer than five working days after the game. Any orders subsequently placed after the fixture has happened will aim to be despatched within three working days.
