Barnsley will face Brighton & Hove Albion in the EFL Cup Third Round in a first meeting between the two sides in the competition since 1982.

Conor Hourihane’s Reds came through a South Yorkshire derby against Rotherham United to set up this Third Round tie against the Premier League side this September.

The Seagulls, who last visited Oakwell eight years ago, progressed to this stage after a 6-0 thumping of Oxford United and will be confident of reaching the Fourth Round for the fifth time in six seasons.
