Birmingham City host West Midlands neighbours Walsall this September in the club’s first EFL Trophy fixture since 1994/95.

Blues, two-time winners of the tournament in the Nineties, have not faced the Saddlers competitively since 2001.

Walsall, who finished 11th in League Two last season, have never won at St. Andrew’s in 13 attempts. A track-record former Blues player turned Walsall boss, Mat Sadler, will be looking to rectify.
