Aston Villa face Italian side Bologna at Villa Park this September as Unai Emery’s men embark on a first UEFA Europa League quest since 2010/11.

The Claret and Blues hosted the Serie A side last season in the Champions League group stage, with John McGinn and John Dhoran on target in a 2-0 victory, and will want a similar result this time around.

The Villa welcome Vincenzo Italiano’s side to B6 on Thursday 25th September for only a second competitive clash between the two sides.

L Rossoblu, who finished ninth in the Italian top-flight last season, lifted the Coppa Italia for a third time in the club’s history in 2024/25 and finished 28th in the Champions League group phase.
