Preston North End meet Wrexham for the first time in 25 years this August in an EFL Cup second-round tie.

North End achieved a 1-0 success on the road at Barrow in the opening round to earn a long-overdue encounter with their Welsh visitors, having not faced each other in a competitive fixture since a Division Two clash in March 2000.

The Championship newcomers saw off Hull City on penalties, following a 3-3 draw in normal time, in the previous round to earn a rare trip to Deepdale as they aim to reach the Third Round of the competition for the first time since 1981/82.
