Motherwell and St. Mirren find themselves one win away from a long overdue appearance in the Premier Sports Cup Final this season.

The Steelmen have now reached the semi-final of the competition in successive campaigns, after eliminating St Johnstone and Aberdeen in narrow away-day victories to reach this November’s final-four contest.

Last season the North Lanarkshire side, who last lifted the Scottish League Cup in 1950, fell to Rangers at this stage but will be determined to go one step further and reach the Hampden showpiece for a first time since 2017.

Standing in their way at the national stadium on Saturday 1st November are fellow Premiership high-fliers St Mirren. Stephen Robinson’s Paisley side eliminated Heart of Midlothian and Kilmarnock, both via penalty shoot-outs, in previous rounds to reach the semis for the first time in four years.

The Buddies, competition winners in 2013, will be dreaming of etching their name onto the famous silverware once again as they look to continue their upward trajectory.
