Birmingham City will host La Liga winners Barcelona in a highly-anticipated pre-season friendly in B9 this July.

The Spanish giants are one of world football’s most decorated clubs, having won the UEFA Champions League on five occasions, been FIFA Club World Cup winners three times and having retained their La Liga crown for a 29th time last season.

The Catalans, managed by Hansi Flick, boast an array of world-class talent including blockbuster stars Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo and Jules Kounde, not to mention more familiar faces in summer signing Anthony Gordon.

Blues will rekindle a unique piece of footballing history between when they clash at St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park on Friday 31st July. The two sides met previously in 1960 when Blues became the first English side to play in a European final against Barcelona in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.
