Commonwealth Games 2026 Opening Ceremony

The 2026 Commonwealth Games opens in spectacular style on 23rd July and the official Opening Ceremony publication provides the perfect memento from the stellar event.

Held at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, the occasion officially marks the beginning of 10 days of sporting action at The Games, which will see 74 nations and territories compete across 215 events in 10 sporting disciplines.

While welcoming every competing nation to Scotland and providing an informative schedule of the festivities in store, the official publication gives insights behind the scenes at how the ceremony was staged and the background to a plethora of performers, creatives, emerging artists and more than 600 volunteers that made it happen.

KT Tunstall, Nathan Evans and Saint Phnx headline the stellar show, with singer songwriter Callum Beattie and musician Nina Nesbitt also part of the celebrations in what is being dubbed a ‘love letter to Glasgow’.
