Southampton’s first FA Cup quarter-final in four years sees them face competition record winners Arsenal in early April.

Saints became the only Championship side remaining in the prestigious tournament after eliminating Fulham in the last round, having already knocked out Doncaster Rovers and Leicester City this season. 

Tonda Eckert’s side, winners back in 1976, earned passage through to the last-eight in dramatic style with a stoppage-time penalty at Craven Cottage to set up a first FA Cup tie with the Gunners since January 2021. On that occasion, a Gabriel own goal saw Saints progress as 1-0 winners at St Mary’s, a scoreline they’d be happy to repeat this time around.

Mikel Arteta’s visitors have shown imperious form this season, nine points clear at the Premier League’s summit and into the Champions League quarter-finals. The North London outfit have seen off Portsmouth, Wigan Athletic and Mansfield Town already as they target lifting the prestigious silverware for a record-extending 15th time.
