It’s an all Premier League tie in the Carabao Cup Third Round this September as Sunderland host Hull City.

The Black Cats previously faced the Tigers in the competition back in September 2020 when the two sides were separated by penalties following a goalless draw, with the Humberside outfit eventually progressed 5-4.

Sunderland have not been at this stage since reaching the quarter-finals in 2022, and will hope home comforts at the Stadium of Light can help them continue their winning start to 2026/27 on Wearside.

Hull have also started the new campaign in impressive fashion, with a penalty shoot-out success at Stoke City in the previous round being sandwiched with Premier League victories against Manchester United and Hull City. ?? men will therefore be eyeing a placed in the Fourth Round for the first time in a decade.
