2025-26 cricket

Lancashire County Cricket Club have started the new season in style on and off the pitch.

The Emirates Old Trafford side are on the summit of the Rothesay Division 2 table after three games and have impressed their members once again by publishing the official Yearbook for 2026.

The 89th edition, diligently compiled and edited by club historian Ken Grime, chronicles the course of the previous season across all competitions for both the men’s and women’s sides under the red rose banner.

The Lancashire Women were double winners last season, lifting the silverware in both the T20 County Cup and Metro Bank One Day Cup, and are featured on the front cover of the 210-page tome.

As well as bringing together all the statistics and scorecards across the County Championship, Vitality Blast and Metro Bank One Day Cup competitions, the publication also reviews the international Tests staged at Emirates Old Trafford throughout the year. There are also mentions to Women’s Player of the Year Emma Lamb and Sir James Anderson, England’s leading Test wicket-taker of all time, who received a knighthood last year for services to cricket.

Ignition Sports Media’s General Manager Dave Middleton acknowledged: “The Yearbook is always a painstaking task because of the level of detail required by Ken and his team to compile the publication, then proof it, as well as from the production team to make sure that every batting rate, table and bowling average is inputted correctly.

“Having worked at Trent Bridge for a number of years I’m all too familiar with how studious members can be about making sure the statistics are accurate, and we hope we’ve been at our diligent and conscientious best to achieve that metric once again in a backdrop of some eye-catching design.”
