Ignition Sports Media were delighted that a prize donation of a full subscription to this season’s Southampton matchday programme helped raise valuable funds for the club’s Foundation in early October.
A Saints Foundation fundraising dinner, in conjunction with Barratt Southampton, included an auction for some sought after memorabilia and goodies as well as a chat from special guest speaker Paul Merson.
More than £185,000 was generously donated during the glamourous evening, as the Premier League side’s Foundation received funds to help them maintain their important outreach work in the local community.
This includes initiatives ranging from helping the elderly maintain their fitness, health and independence through various classes, to building communal centres such as football fields to accommodate children with disabilities, and assisting young adults not in education to establish careers via rewarding pathway courses.
Manager of Sales and Marketing for Barratt Southampton, Megan Hamlyn, was delighted with the latest show of generosity for the local area.
She said: “In this one night we reached £185,441 for this wonderful charity. Our ultimate goal was to reach £200,000 but we have already raised £70,000 more than last year and will continue to contribute in the coming months. We are so grateful for Ignition Sports Media’s prize donation which contributed to this incredible total.”
