The transfer window may not be open until January but Ignition Sports Media’s print partners have ended 2022 with a major coup.
Stephens & George Print Group, one of the industry’s most established printers, have bolstered their ranks during these challenging times with the acquisition of Pensord.
The deal to acquire the £11.4million group encompasses Pensord Press, Cambrian Printers and Pensord Digital.
The South Wales printers already produce a staggering 44,000 pages per month through their pre-press system, as well as stitching 2.5million programmes and magazines and mailing 650,000 packets per month across two mailing lines.
Yet with Pensord’s 123 staff and digital printing facility added to the armoury from early December, the company’s capabilities have been further enhanced.
S&G Chairman and Managing Director Andrew Jones said of the merger: “The two businesses are closely aligned, we are both leaders in the magazine marketplace and with the association with Cambrian they do a lot of commercial work, which we are used to as well.
“This is an exciting time for the Group and will bring some much-needed continuity and stability for every single client across both print groups, in a very fast-changing and uncertain world.”
