With the help of our in-house technical wizards Ignition Sports Media launched its first dedicated programme app with Aston Villa this September.
The collectible ‘The Villa News & Record’ publication for the Premier League outfit is now accessible via a dedicated app every matchday, across both App Store and Google Play devices, as we look to expand the cherished publication to overseas supporters and a younger demographic.
Via the Aston Villa Official Programme app the 84-page publication can be downloaded wherever you’re following the claret and blues in the world, allowing supporters to read manager Unai Emery’s column before kick-off, as well as exclusive features and in-depth analysis on the day’s opposition.
ISM’s General Manager Dave Middleton said of the new venture: “We’re really pleased that the initial launch of the App, across both platforms, has been exceptionally well received. There were 2,500 installs of the App worldwide on the weekend of release, with more than 100,000 views.
“Although the core of our business remains printed publications, we recognise the trend for a younger demographic to view content on mobile devices only, as well as for overseas supporters of the club to feel part of the matchday experience with access to the traditional matchday programme.
“The digital accompaniment for Aston Villa maintains the design integrity of every issue, while making it a more mobile-friendly reading experience. Our tech boffins have also integrated some exciting new features to tailor the programme for supporters’ individual needs, such as audio read through and the ability to alter the content into different languages.”
As well as including several standout programmes from last season as free content, plus the issues against Newcastle United and Crystal Palace from the start of 2025/26, each new issue can be downloaded for just £2.99.
Downloaders can also save money with six month and 12-month subscription packages, for £24.99 and £39.99, which means they’ll never miss an edition across all competitions wherever they’re choosing to follow their beloved club in the world.
